Mikey Madison is wonderful in the role of a young woman whose fairytale dream becomes reality. However, unlike Elizabeth Taylor in Butterfield 8 or Elisabeth Shue in Laving Las Vegas , the main character never becomes a classic prostitute with a heart of gold. She is tough as nails, full of rage and ready to strike again until the end. Although she was never a foodie, her determination never wavered. She knows how to defend herself and angrily rejects those who fail in this regard.
Many have described this film as a semi-comedy
This was one of the best shows of the year. Just when you think you know where this is going, the film raises your expectations and turns out to be a more demanding film with a heartbreaking reality at its core. Honestly, despite the dark sense of humor, it is a bit of a stretch. Fair warning, this film is very taxing on the psyche. You may end up getting tired of it.
